FIELD KIT
PRIVACY.

Field Kit is an Android app developed and published by Disconnetic as part of Visitant, its paranormal fieldwork branch. Disconnetic is the data controller for personal information it receives through Field Kit. Contact us at hello@disconnetic.com.

Field Kit is designed so its main investigation features work on your device. The app has no user accounts, advertising, or third-party analytics SDKs. Disconnetic does not sell personal information. This policy explains what the app accesses, what stays on your device, and when information may leave it.

01

Microphone and recordings

With your permission, Field Kit uses the microphone when you choose to use the EVP Recorder. This lets you record audio and review it inside the app.

  • Recordings you save are stored in Field Kit's private storage on your device.
  • Field Kit does not upload microphone audio or saved recordings to Disconnetic.
  • You can stop a recording in the app and delete saved recordings from the recordings screen.
  • Field Kit does not record microphone audio in the background.
02

Camera and QR codes

With your permission, Field Kit uses the camera for the SLS Camera and to scan Field Kit sensor-room QR codes.

  • SLS Camera frames are analysed on your device using on-device Google ML Kit components for pose, object, and scene-label detection. Temporary frame files are deleted after analysis and are not uploaded to Disconnetic.
  • When you scan a Field Kit pairing code, the app reads the relay address and room code in that code. It does not save or upload the surrounding camera image.
03

Device and environmental sensors

Field Kit may read sensors available on your device, including the accelerometer, gyroscope, magnetometer, barometer, and ambient-light sensor. These readings power investigation meters, triggers, and visualisations.

Ordinary single-device sensor readings stay on your device. Field Kit does not use these sensors to determine your geographic location and does not request location permission.

04

Optional multi-device sensor rooms

If you deliberately host or join a multi-device sensor room, Field Kit sends live room information through the relay address selected in the app. This can include:

  • raw sensor readings;
  • a temporary session device identifier;
  • your device name or model name; and
  • the room code.

Other devices in the same room receive that information for the live shared display. Disconnetic does not provide a central Field Kit relay and does not receive or retain sensor-room information unless a relay operated by Disconnetic is identified in the app in the future.

The person or organisation operating the relay may be able to observe or log information sent through it. A wss:// connection is encrypted in transit; a ws:// connection is not. Only use an unencrypted relay on a network and with participants you trust.

05

Text-to-speech

The Words module can ask your device's text-to-speech service to speak a word selected by the app. Depending on the speech engine configured on your device, the engine provider may process that text on the device or through its own service. Field Kit does not send spoken words to Disconnetic.

06

Google Play purchases

Field Kit may offer optional one-time purchases through Google Play. Google processes payments using your Google account under Google's terms and privacy policy. Disconnetic does not receive your payment-card or bank-account details.

The app receives product identifiers, purchase status, entitlement information, and a purchase token from Google Play as needed to complete, acknowledge, and restore purchases. Purchase tokens are handled temporarily. Field Kit stores confirmed product identifiers and confirmation times locally so purchased features remain available.

07

Information stored on your device

Depending on the features you use, Field Kit stores the following in its private app storage:

  • settings and preferences;
  • trial usage and purchased-feature entitlement status;
  • investigation session dates, duration, selected profile, sensor mode, event labels, and derived signal measurements; and
  • audio recordings you choose to save.

This information is used to provide app features and preserve your choices. It is not sent to Disconnetic.

08

Network and device information

When Field Kit connects to Google Play or to a sensor relay you select, that service may automatically receive ordinary network information such as your IP address, request time, and technical request headers. The service operator handles that information under its own privacy practices.

Field Kit checks whether the device is using Wi-Fi to improve the context shown by its EMF feature. That network-type check is performed on the device and is not sent to Disconnetic.

09

How information is shared

Disconnetic does not sell or rent personal information. Information leaves your device only for the user-chosen or service operations described in this policy:

  • Google Play processes purchase and entitlement information when you buy or restore an optional product;
  • a sensor relay and room participants receive live room information when you choose to use a multi-device room; and
  • your selected text-to-speech engine may process app-selected words according to that provider's settings and privacy practices.

We may disclose information we hold if required by law or reasonably necessary to protect legal rights, users, or the public. Because Field Kit has no accounts and its main content stays on your device, Disconnetic normally has no app content to disclose.

Field Kit does not use microphone recordings, camera frames, or sensor readings for advertising, profiling, or training artificial-intelligence models.

10

Legal reasons for processing

Where UK data-protection law applies and Disconnetic receives personal information, we process purchase and entitlement information as necessary to provide purchased features and to take steps under our contract with you. We may process limited technical information where necessary for our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and supporting Field Kit. We may also process information where required by law.

User-directed transfers to a sensor relay are initiated by you to provide the multi-device room feature. The relay operator is responsible for its own processing.

11

Retention and deletion

Local settings, history, entitlements, and saved recordings remain on your device until deleted through an available in-app control, replaced during normal operation, removed by clearing Field Kit's storage, or removed when you uninstall the app. Temporary camera frames are deleted after analysis. Temporary live sensor-room information is kept in app memory only while needed for the connection and disappears shortly after a device disconnects.

Field Kit does not create user accounts, and Disconnetic does not maintain a server-side Field Kit profile. You can remove all information held by the app by clearing its storage in Android settings or uninstalling it. Retention by Google, a text-to-speech provider, or a relay operator is governed by that provider's practices.

12

Security

Field Kit uses Android's private app storage for local information and disables Android application backup. Camera and microphone access is limited to features that need it, and temporary camera files are deleted after use. No storage or transmission method is completely secure. In particular, ws:// sensor-relay traffic is not encrypted; use wss:// over an untrusted network.

13

Children

Field Kit is not directed at children, and Disconnetic does not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app. If you believe a child has provided personal information to Disconnetic, contact us so we can investigate.

14

Your choices and rights

You can deny or withdraw camera and microphone permissions in Android settings. Features requiring a denied permission will not work. You can choose not to join a sensor room and can disconnect at any time.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to our processing of your personal information, and in some cases to receive a portable copy. You have the right to object where we rely on legitimate interests. Email hello@disconnetic.com to make a request. Because core app data remains on your device, we normally cannot access, recover, or delete it for you.

If you are in the United Kingdom, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office. The ICO's guidance and complaint route are available at ico.org.uk.

15

Third-party services

Google's handling of account, device, transaction, and service information is governed by the Google Privacy Policy. A text-to-speech provider or sensor relay selected by you or another participant may have its own privacy practices. Review those practices before using a service you do not operate or trust.

16

Website privacy

This policy covers the Field Kit Android app. The Disconnetic and Visitant websites have a separate website privacy notice, including information about contact forms, site security, and browser storage.

17

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when Field Kit, applicable law, or our data practices change. We will update the effective date and publish the revised policy at this same address. If a change materially affects how the app handles personal or sensitive information, we will provide additional notice where required.
